IGAD to Participate in the Upcoming G20 Africa Partnership

15-05-2017, Djibouti (Djibouti): The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), H.E. Amb (Eng) Mahboub Maalim, yesterday received the Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to Germany and member of the IGAD Ambassadors Group in Germany, H.E. Aden Dileita. 

Amb Maalim welcomed Amb Dileita to his office at the IGAD Secretariat and briefed him of the organisation’s activities with updates on the recent developments.

The two parties discussed the participation of the IGAD Executive Secretary to the upcoming G20 Africa Partnership titled “investing in a Common Future” and that will be held in Berlin, Germany, on June 12th and 13th, 2017.

Amb Dileita and his peers of the IGAD Ambassadors Group in Germany facilitated the invitation of the Executive Secretary to the event in order for him to further advocate support from the G20 to the IGAD region.

The IGAD Executive Secretary thanked Amb Dileita and the Ambassadors Group for their tireless efforts in promoting the IGAD in Germany which is a major development partner of the organisation. Amb Maalim assured his guest of his participation to the G20 Africa partnership, and vowed to deepen the relations with the developed countries represented there.

The IGAD Ambassadors Group in Germany aims at advocating for the IGAD region to be a priority area in the development agenda of Germany.
