South Sudanese Peace building practioners and IGAD staff in Adama Town, Ethiopia – 20/04/2012

The Peace and Security Division of IGAD with collaboration of the IGAD Liaison Office in Juba, Rep. of South Sudan, organized a five day Training of Trainers (ToT) on peace building for South Sudanese practitioners in collaboration with COPA (Coalition for Peace in Africa) from April 17-21 in Adama Town, Ethiopia. The purpose of the training was to contribute to the South Sudanese efforts to build internal capacities towards peace and stability.

Course objectives include: building capacities of peace building practitioners to design effective training, strengthen skills and capacities to conduct needs assessments of their target groups, enhance capacities to conduct training using effective methodologies and evaluate training programs.

The training was funded by Sweden, a long-term IGAD partner in development.
