The Ambassador of South Sudan Visits IGAD Secretariat

20-02-2017, Djibouti: The Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan to Ethiopia and Djibouti, and member of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Committee of Ambassadors, HE James Pitia Morgan, this morning was received by the Director of Agriculture and Environment Division of IGAD and Official In Charge, Mr Mohamed Moussa, at the Secretariat in Djibouti for a courtesy call.

Mr Mohamed Moussa welcomed the Ambassador to the headquarters of the Organisation and wished him a pleasant stay in Djibouti. He also briefed His Excellency about IGAD, and about the efforts deployed by the latter in complementing with the government of South Sudan, stakeholders, and the international community for a peaceful and prosperous Republic of South Sudan.

 

Amb Morgan thanked the Official in Charge for his warm welcome and conveyed greetings from the people and government of South Sudan. He expressed his wish to be more acquainted with IGAD and showed appreciation to Mr Mohamed for the briefing.

 

He said that the government of South Sudan is doing its utmost to bring stability and development to the country and that his country will remain engaged with IGAD in every aspect. ###
