02-11-2016, Djibouti: The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), HE Amb. (Eng.) Mahboub Maalim, today congratulated the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, His Excellency Dr Workneh Gebeyehu.

In his message, the Executive Secretary extended “his warmest congratulations” to the incoming Minister and expressed his convictions that HE Dr Gebeyehu will further deepen and broaden the exceptional working relations IGAD has always entertained with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
 
“I would also like to welcome you, your Excellency, as the Chair of the IGAD Council of Ministers and I want to expressly assure you of my entire support and that of the IGAD family to you and your team”, the Executive Secretary continued.
 
“Ethiopia is and has always been a key actor of the regional scene at the service of peace and stability. I have no doubt that your Excellency will continue working for the benefit of the people and government of Ethiopia and for that of the entire IGAD region as much as your predecessor did”, the message sent by the Executive Secretary concluded.###
