Addis Ababa, 17-11-2013 – The training on Human & Peoples’ Rights was conducted from 15th – 17th November 2013 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
One of the main responsibilities of the Political Affairs Program (PAP) under the Peace and security Division (PSD) is to facilitate deeper knowledge in IGAD Member States on policies, legal frameworks and provisions pertaining to democracy, governance, elections and human rights. 
Accordingly, the Political Affairs Program in the PSD/IGAD in collaboration with the Political Affairs Department of the Africa Union Commission (AUC) organized a training program on African Human and Peoples’ Rights Systems. The purpose of this training was strengthening the understanding of Human Rights issues of IGAD Member States there by strengthening their implementation.
The training was attended by three representatives from each IGAD Member State drawn from Ministries of Justice, National parliaments and Focal Ministries of IGAD Member states.
