The Ambassador of Japan, H.E Mr. Shin-ichi Saida, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, also Permanent Representative to the African Union was received on March 3, 2017 by the Executive Secretary of IGAD H.E. Amb (Eng) Mahboub Moalim at the IGAD Peace and Security Division Premises in Addis Ababa.
Amb Maalim welcomed and briefed Amb Saida about IGAD Peace and Security Division and its functions. He also acknowledged the support of the Government of Japan to IGAD mainly to the Center for Natural Resources Management in Somalia, Somalia Facilitation Office and its operationalization.
Amb Saida thanked Amb Maalim for the warm welcome and called for stronger support of his government towards countering and preventing violent extremism in Somalia.
