Refugees and Asylum Seekers in the IGAD Region (2024).
As of December 2024, the IGAD region recorded over 5.4 million refugees and asylum seekers. Uganda hosted the largest refugee population, totalling approximately 1.8 million, while Kenya reported the highest number of asylum seekers. Females accounted for 51% of the registered refugee population.
