“This collaborative effort aligns with our strategic objectives and the African Union Declaration on Land Issues and Challenges, fostering dialogue, offering technical support for policy formulation and implementation, and fostering capacity building through knowledge exchange and shared experiences,” he emphasized.

Representing the German delegation, Ms. Shain, Executive Officer of the German Corp., conveyed contentment regarding the partnership with IGAD for the new project. She emphasized its potential to significantly impact the lives of women and youth in the designated project areas.

Through capacity development, the IGAD Land Governance Unit is implementing the Strengthening Advisory Capacities for Land Governance in Africa (SLGA) Project, funded by the Geutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GMBH.

The project’s objective is to contribute to an equitable and transparent land administration system, fostering sustainable development objectives while ensuring social equity, economic growth, and environmental protection.
