December 16, 2021 (DJIBOUTI, Djibouti): The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), H.E. Dr Workneh Gebeyehu, will deliver his State of the Region Address on the 17th of December 2021 at 10:30 AM East Africa Time.

The State of the Region Address will cover important regional issues that are within the mandate of IGAD including peace and security, regional response to Covid-19, climate change and disaster resilience, migration and displacement as well as regional economic development and integration.
The Executive Secretary will also frame the future outlook for IGAD as an organisation in the current context and unveil flagship projects that will shape the future of the institution and the citizens of the region in a coordinated and harmonised manner within the framework of multilateralism and international cooperation.
