11-11-2018, Djibouti (Djibouti): The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), H.E. Amb (Eng) Mahboub Maalim, today was received by the Ambassador of China to Djibouti, H.E. Zhuo Ruisheng, at the Embassy of China.
The Ambassador of China lauded the Executive Secretary and the regional organization under his leadership for the tremendous amount of work towards and peace and development in the region. He assured him of China’s support in this Endeavour.
The Executive Secretary acknowledged China’s growing partnership with IGAD Member States entrusted in win-win and strong bilateral relations. He called on the Ambassador of China to assist in escalating the relations China has with the regional organization by being accredited to IGAD.
The Executive Secretary also availed himself for a working visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China for the purpose of bringing IGAD’s agenda to the attention of the highest diplomatic level.
The visit by the ES to the Ambassador of China was also the opportunity to receive a grant of 100,000.00 USD to the regional organization; which grant has been in effect the recent years.
