8-12-2016 – The IGAD Executive Secretary this morning held separate consultations with Representatives of the Governments of UK, Norway as well as Italy. The Consultations touched on regional peace and security developments in light of the IGAD Summit meeting of Heads of State and Government scheduled to be held in Addis Ababa on 9 December 2016 to consider developments in South Sudan and Somalia. In this his meeting with the UK Special Envoy Mr. Christopher Trott, and Norwegian Special Envoy Mr. Erlink Skjonsberg as well as delegates from the Government of Italy. Amb. Maalim appreciated the support and continued partnership with their governments. The delegations on their part appreciated IGAD’s ongoing efforts to promote peace and security in the region.
