01-03-2017, Djibouti (Djibouti): It is on his own behalf and that of the entire IGAD family that the Executive Secretary of the Inter Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD), HE Amb (Eng) Mahboub Maalim, congratulates HE Hassan Ali Khaire, on the occasion of his confirmation as the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
“It is with great pleasure that we are seeing the Federal Republic of Somalia marching towards a bright future with the overwhelming confirmation of HE Hassan Ali Khaire to the position of Prime Minister of Somalia to whom I am sending my sincere congratulations.
I also salute the Members of Parliament of Somalia for confirming HE Hassan Ali Khaire as the new Prime Minister, by acclamation, clearly showing the trust he enjoys among the Parliamentarians and the people they represent.

IGAD Executive Secretary adds that the Prime Minister has vast experience in international platforms, especially regarding the challenges of drought which will be extremely valuable not only to the Federal Republic of Somalia but also to the IGAD region in general at this particular time.
