A pivotal meeting with Ambassador Shimizu Shinsuke, Japanโs Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, set the stage for a strategic working lunch with Ms. Kamikawa Yoko, Japan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. This 90-minute session addressed regional peace and security, particularly the severe suffering in Sudan, and emphasized IGADโs role in fostering inclusive societies and sustainable peace.
Ms. Kamikawa commended IGADโs dedication to sustainable peace, gender-responsive policies, equality, and womenโs rights within the region.
