14-03-2018, Djibouti (Djibouti): The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), H.E. Amb (Eng) Mahboub Maalim, yesterday received the newly appointed Ambassador of the United States to Djibouti, H.E. Amb Larry André, in his office at the Secretariat of the regional organisation.

During this courtesy call to the Executive Secretary, the discussion evolved around the US support to IGAD programmes.

Amb Maalim updated the US Ambassador on IGAD’s efforts in Countering Violent Extremism, Resilient Agenda, regional integration through infrastructure development, the South Sudan Peace Process among others.

Amb Maalim highlighted the support provided by the US government in numerous areas.

The two parties pledged continued collaboration and support to each other.
