IGAD expresses its heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the innocent people killed by Al-shabab at two recreation areas while they were watching the final World Soccer Match in Kampala, Uganda.

 

While condemning this heinous act, IGAD calls for the international community and its Member States to strengthen the economic and military support to the TFG to fight this terrorists in Somalia and the region.

IGAD thanks the governments of Uganda and Burundi for their commitment to bring peace in Somalia and the IGAD region at large. In this context, IGAD wishes to assure both governments its unwavering support to their engagement to bring peace and security in Somalia and the region. IGAD further assures both governments of Burundi and Uganda and the International Community of its determination to work tirelessly to combat terrorism and bring lasting peace and security in the region.
