Ministers, Commissioners and Heads of Delegation of IGAD commit to activating and updating contingency plans at national and local levels with clear roles for evacuation and humanitarian access; pre-positioning food, health, WASH and agricultural supplies while protecting infrastructure like roads, bridges and health facilities; strengthening health surveillance for flood-related diseases such as cholera and malaria; and protecting food systems through timely farming advisories, livestock vaccination and managed grazing.
