Regional Workshop to Create a Roadmap for IGAD Region and Action Plan Following the Soil Health and Fertiliser Summit Declaration
IGAD, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, is a regional organization in East
Africa whose primary objectives include promoting regional cooperation and integration,
peace and security, and sustainable development. The organization has four pillars
including pillar one on Agriculture Development, Natural Resources Management,
Environment Protection, Climate Variability/ Change and Disaster Risk Management. This
pillar has strategic development objectives to enhance food and nutrition security in the
region, to enhance sustainable management of natural resources and the environment
and build resilience to disasters and climate change/ variability.
