Djibouti, 06-11-2015: Senior officials of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the World Health Organization (WHO) held a joint meeting yesterday in Djibouti to discuss the development of a regional program to regulate medicines and other medical products.

Welcoming the officials on behalf of the Executive Secretary, the Director of Economic Cooperation and Social Development at the IGAD Secretariat, Mr. Elsadig Abdalla pointed out that though the porous nature of borders in the region had facilitated a profitable movement of people and animals, goods and services in the spirit of integration, illegal and counterfeit medicines that are hazardous to human and animal health had also found their way through.

August 03, 2015, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia:  IGAD, in partnership with Federal Ministry of Health of Ethiopia, WHO, UNFPA, and USAID/PQM, is convening the above Conference from 03 to 05 August 2015 at Hilton Hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Conference is attended by ministers and experts from Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan and Uganda.

York (UK), 21-07,2015: Universities and colleges around the world have been urged to support the York Accord, which sets out a series of recommendations and a commitment to protect and rebuild higher education caught in the crossfire of armed conflict.

On 17 July 2015, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) - East African regional block, joined other academics and educationists from all corners at the University of York in the United Kingdom to compile the Accord   setting down in writing for the first time a minimum understanding of what are the basic principles for protection and recovery after conflict for higher education.

Djibouti, 06-04-2015: The Ministers in charge of Youth and Sports Affairs from the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) members states this morning endorsed the IGAD Games Charter following an official opening ceremony of the First IGAD Ministerial Meeting on Youth and Sports led by Djibouti Prime Minister, HEM Abdoulkader Kamil, at Djibouti Kempinski Palace.
