29-04-2016, Nairobi: The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) this morning held the 4th Drought Disaster Resilience and Sustainability Initiative (IDDRSI) General Assembly in Nairobi. The official opening ceremony was presided over by Hon. Mwangi Kiunjiru, Cabinet Secretary-Ministry of Devolution and Planning of Kenya, in the presence of Hon. Egziabher Yohannes, State Minister of Livestock and Fisheries of Ethiopia, and HE Amb. (Eng.) Mahboub Maalim, Executive Secretary of IGAD.
26-04-2016, Nairobi: The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) this morning inaugurated the Sixth Steering Committee Meeting of their Drought Disaster Resilience and Sustainability Initiative (IDDRSI) in Nairobi. This will be followed by the meeting of the IDDRSI Ministerial General Assembly which will be held on 29th April 2016.
Addis Ababa, 1-3-2016: The Inter Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD), fish experts, representatives of the IGAD Member States, IGAD focal persons and development partners namely; EU, FAO, AU IBAR, Oxfam-Somalia are meeting in Addis Ababa for two days to validate a Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Strategy and IGAD Action Plan in order to harness, develop and review the fishery and aquaculture resources in the IGAD region that was put together in December 2015.
23-2-2016, Djibouti – The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the Land Policy Initiative (LPI) with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) are meeting for two days in Djibouti to review progress made in implementing the project to improve land governance in the IGAD region. The aim of the project is to facilitate the implementation of the AU Declaration on Land Issues and Challenges in accordance with the Framework and Guidelines on Land Policy in Africa.
Kigali, 22-02-2016: The Nairobi-based Intergovernmental Authority on Development Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources of Rwanda and the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), this morning opened the 42nd Greater Horn of Africa Climate Outlook Forum (GHACFO42) in Kigali, Rwanda, with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
