The Executive Secretary of IGAD, H.E. Eng. Mahboub Maalim met with UNDP Administrator, Mrs, Helen Clark. The two officials discussed the outcome of the IGAD/UN agencies conference that took place in Djibouti from May 16-17, 2012.  They also discussed ways to strengthen UNDP support for IGAD’s capacity in the implementation of the IGAD Drought Resilience Initiative in the Horn of Africa. Mrs. Clark assured the Executive Secretary of continuing UNDP support to IGAD by providing technical and financial support as well as lobbying for IGAD’s causes.
