Kenyan and Ethiopian delegation of parliamentarians paid a working visit to IGAD Secretariat where they were welcomed by the Executive Secretary, H.E. Ambassador Mahboub Maalim.

The Kenyan delegation, headed by Hon. Elias Bare Shill, the Chairman of the Defence and Foreign Relations Committee were accompanied by Hon. John Lodepe Nakara, Hon. Joseph Kiuna, Hon. Abass Sheikh Mohamed, Hon. Joseph Lekuton, Hon. Joyce Wanjalah Lay and Hon. Beatrice Nyaga.

Also Hon. Haji Mohamed Rashid Deputy Speaker of the House of Federation of Ethiopian and other officials were among the delegation.

The delegation had a meeting with the Executive Secretary who briefed them on the political, social and economic issues of the region before they listened to  presentations from the staff of IGAD on the work of the organization and asked questions.

During their stay in Djibouti, the delegation will meet with their Djiboutian counterparts.
