This training program was the second part of the Gender Mainstreaming capacity enhancement package launched in June this year.
“The program started with conducting Gender Baseline Survey at the IGAD Secretariat and its specialized offices,” said Hadera Tesfay of the IGAD Gender program. “The implementation of the package will be culminated with the preparation of Gender Mainstreaming guideline and tool.”
The Gender Mainstreaming program ensures that both women and men can have equal rights in all policy sectors. The program takes into account the different needs of men and women.
The training was funded by the Joint Financial Agreement in the context of the IGAD institutional strengthening action plan.
