(Djibouti – August 2, 2019) The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) is deeply saddened by the death of the Governor of Banadir Region and the Mayor of Mogadishu Abdirahman Omar Osman (Eng. Yarisow) and wishes to send sincere condolences to the families, friends, the Government and the people of Somalia. IGAD also wishes a speedy recovery to those who were injured.
Terror groups should realize that these atrocities will never deter the Somali people from their legitimate and determined quest of a peaceful, democratic and prosperous homeland
IGAD condemns the horrendous act of terror and stands firm by the resilient people and Government of Somalia.
