Nairobi, Tuesday 5 May 2015: On his own behalf and that of the entire IGAD family, the Executive Secretary, Ambassador (Eng.) Mahboub Maalim has today congratulated General Samson Mwathethe following his appointment and subsequent swearing in as the Chief of Defense Forces of the Republic of Kenya.
Having had the pleasure and privilege of interacting with him in his previous position in pursuit of regional peace, security and economic development, Amb Mahboub stated that IGAD Secretariat appreciates his immense contribution and looks forward to his continued collaboration.
“I personally value his humility and professionalism that has propelled him to this highest level in his career,” the IGAD Executive Secretary concluded in a congratulatory letter sent to the new Chief of Defence Forces.
