Djibouti, 31-07-2016: The Executive Secretary of IGAD H.E Amb (Eng) Mahboub Maalim on July 28, 2016 signed a contract for Trade and Transport Facilitation Study of the Kampala – Juba – Addis Ababa – Djibouti Corridor with Kagga & Partners Consulting Engineers in association with AFRICON Universal Consulting. The Managing Director of Kagga & Partners Consulting Engineers Eng. Peter Magambo signed on behalf of the consulting firms.
The contract was awarded to Kagga & Partners Consulting Engineers (Uganda) in association with AFRICON Universal Consulting (Kenya); leading consulting firms in Engineering and Management that have successfully executed a large number of consultancy assignments, in East, Central and Southern Africa including Uganda, Tanzania, Eritrea, Rwanda, Malawi, Swaziland, South Africa, South Sudan and Mozambique.
The study which will be completed in six (6) months and is funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB) through the NEPAD-IPPF (Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility).
IGAD has the role, mandate and vision of an integrated region through inter linking its member states for free movement of people and goods for economic prosperity and development.
Present at the signing ceremony were Eng. Abdulrazaq Ali, the Managing Director of ARFICON Universal Consulting, Eng. Tutu Kagga of Kagga & Partners, Mr. Elsadiq Abdalla; the Director of Economic Cooperation and Social Development and Eng. Mwathi Kungu the Project Coordinator of the Corridor Studies at IGAD.
