Expert Roster-Consultants for Operationalizing the Mandate of The IGAD Task Force on The Red Sea and The Gulf of Aden

The Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) is one of the Regional Economic Communities (RECs) recognized by the African Union consisting of eight Member States (MSs). The MSs are Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda. IGAD strives to be the premium REC for achieving peace and security, as well as sustainable development through promoting regional cooperation and integration, and enhancing Member States’ capacities. 

IGAD and the European Union (EU) through the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) have jointly developed a grant project document titled: “Operationalizing the Mandate of The IGAD Task Force on The Red Sea and The Gulf of Aden”, which is planned to be implemented by the IGAD Red Sea and Gulf of Aden Mission (IGAD-RSGA). IGAD RSGA is one of the IGAD units that benefit from the IPPSHAR program.

IGAD-RSGA in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia invites qualified experts to apply for possible consultancies as and when required under the Expert Roster to deliver professional services for the implementation of the above-mentioned project. The thematic expertise areas are:

  1. Policy and Strategic Advisors;
  2. Senior Legal Experts;
  3. Senior Policy Formulation Experts;
  4. Senior Strategy Formulation Experts;
  5. Senior Policy Analysts;
  6. Rapporteurs;
  7. Website Developers.

The successful candidates, after an evaluation, will be included in Intergovernmental Authority on Development Red Sea & Gulf of Aden’s (IGAD-RSGA) technical expert roster for the period of 2 years to be contracted as and when required. Entry into the expert roster system does not necessarily mean that contract with IGAD-RSGA is guaranteed. This will depend on forthcoming needs.
