IGAD Executive Secretary, Eng. Mahboub Maalim, met with the ambassador of China to the Republic of Ethiopia H.E. Mr.Gu Xiaojie.
The Executive Secretary briefed the ambassador about the revitalization of IGAD and the works of the organization in the region.
“We will support your efforts,” said Ambassador Xiaojie, “We appreciate your efforts of regional integration, revitalization and promotion of peace.”
The Ambassador citing the historical support his country has given to the African countries and the ongoing bilateral cooperation between China and the IGAD member states stated that China will continue exploring areas of cooperation.
