February 11, 2022 (Brussels, Belgium): Today in a colourful ceremony held at the the Belgian Federal Public Service of Foreign Affairs, the Executive Secretary of IGAD, Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu (Ph.D) signed an accreditation agreement with the Government of the Kingdom of Belgium officially recognising the Office of the IGAD Representative in Brussels.
The Ambassador Peter Martin, Head of the Interministerial Committee for Host Nation Policy, represented the Kingdom of Belgium at the signing ceremony which raises the status of the IGAD Representative Office and paves the way for its full accreditation to the EU.
The Executive Secretary was accompanied at the ceremony by the IGAD Representative in Brussels Janet Al-Utaibi, the IGAD Programme Manager for Coordination and Partnerships, Mr. Mubarak Mabuya and Mr. Phillip Gathungu of the ES Office”
