Djibouti, 25-11-2013 – The 26th Meeting of the Committee of Ambassadors of IGAD was held yesterday at Djibouti Palace Kempinski under the chairmanship of Ambassador of Ethiopia to Djibouti , HE Amabssador. Suleiman Dedefo Woshe , the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti , HEM Mohamed Ali Hassan, and the Executive Secretary of IGAD, Ambassador Mahboub Maalim .
Besides a number of issues internal to the organization of IGAD, a major topic of this meeting was the presentation of the project on the Institute of Diplomatic Studies of Djibouti by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti.
HEM Mohamed Ali Hassan welcomed all the participants to this meeting and declared he was happy it was held in Djibouti. He also said he was convinced that it would be a fruitful meeting and hoped that the meetings of the Committee of Ambassadors of IGAD were held more regularly in time.
The Chairman of the Committee of Ambassadors, Ambassador Suleiman Dedefo Woshe, also wished the same in his opening remarks before confirming the agenda of the meeting giving the floor to the Executive Secretary of IGAD who emphasized that IGAD had gained visibility and reputation and that it had to meet the challenges ahead. He also highlighted the support provided by the member states to the organization and congratulated the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti for his valuable collaboration.
