Call for Proposal: Innovation Grants for Women and Youth Peace Initiatives
IGAD/GENDER Innovation grants supported by the Government of Japan
IGAD/Gender in close collaboration with the Japan Governement through the project on Empowering women and youth in the IGAD region:Overcoming Barriers to Meaningful Participation Leadership and peace and security, made available small grants to contribute to efforts for women and youth innitiatives working towards promotion of peace and security in in IGAD Member States.
The Grant is aimed to supporting innovative women and youth led initiatives that advance inclusive peace and security solutions with the potential for national and regional impact.
About the Innovation Grants
The Innovation Grants will provide direct financial support to emerging women and youth peace initiatives, enabling them to test and implement creative approaches to conflict transformation. The program seeks to fund country-level projects that align with Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) objectives and have the potential for regional impact.
A. The amount available for each project: Up to equivalent USD 10,000 for each Regular Project.
B. Implementation Timeline: Maximum of three months from inception to completion.
C. Eligible Applicant: We welcome applications from:
1. Women-ledandyouth-ledorganizationsworkingonpeaceandsecurity.
2. Community-based initiatives with innovative approaches to conflict
transformation.
3. Projectswiththepotentialtoscaleataregionallevel.
D. Selection Process: Grantees will be chosen through a rigorous screening and selection process to ensure the highest potential for impact. Priority will be given to initiatives that demonstrate;
- Innovation: Unique and creative approaches to peacebuilding.
- Feasibility: A clear plan for implementation and sustainability.
- Regional Impact Potential: The ability to influence beyond local communities.
E. How to Apply: Interested applicants should submit their proposals of not more than 5 pages through this https://igad.int/igad-japan-innovation-grants-online- application-form/ by 27th May 2025.
Proposals must include:
1. A brief description of the initiative.
2. Expected outcomes and impact.
3. Budget breakdown.
4. Implementation timeline.
