REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP)

FOR

PROVISION OF A radio programme to increase awareness about how financial inclusion can build the resilience of women in Karamoja and Mandera clusters against Covid-19 and climate-related crises

BACKGROUND

The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) plans to organize a radio magazine programme under the overarching theme:  Mitigating the impact of Covid-19 and climatic shocks on financial inclusion and economic empowerment of women in Karamoja and Mandera Clusters.

 

THE OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The purpose of this assignment is to create awareness about how to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 and climate related disasters on financial inclusion and economic empowerment of women in the Karamoja and Mandera Clusters.

The specific objectives are to:

  • Increase understanding about the relationship between gender equality, financial inclusion, women empowerment and resilience to climate-related shocks and Covid-19
  • Enhance knowledge exchange, skills and practices on gender responsive financial services among beneficiaries, service providers and policy makers
  • Identify options for improving financial inclusion of women and recovery from the impact of Covid-19 and recurring climate-related shocks
  • Increase understanding about the relationship between gender equality, financial inclusion, women empowerment and resilience to climate-related shocks and Covid-19
  • Enhance knowledge exchange, skills and practices on gender responsive financial services among beneficiaries, service providers and policy makers
  • Identify options for improving financial inclusion of women and recovery from the impact of Covid-19 and recurring climate-related shocks

HOW TO APPLY

  1. 1. The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) now invites eligible and qualified radio stations to submit their proposals as per the TOR attached.
  2. 2. Bidding will be conducted through the Selection, Evaluation and Award Criteria of IGAD Procurement Manual January 2017 edition.
  3. 3. For submission of accurate proposals, a complete and detailed Terms of Reference (TOR) in English language is attached to this Request for Proposal (RFP).
  4. 4. Individuals, consortium of individuals with a team leader or firms may apply fulfilling the requirements in the Terms of Reference.

A cover letter expressing interest must be submitted together with

  1. A technical Proposal
  1. Financial Proposal
  1. The email must clearly state the assignment applied for and marked.
  2. 6. The Technical and Financial proposals shall be sent to IGAD Secretariat Procurement Unit to address given below. Late proposal will be rejected.
  3. 7. The deadline for submitting the Proposals will be at or before no later than 2:00 pm on Monday 10th August 2020 and address for submitting the offer will be:
